First steps to build your own airplane

Dear prospective builder,

You like to build your own airplane? Great, if you want to do this in Switzerland you approached the right page. Whether you plans are for a kit airplane, a custom and plans built or you even intend to build a prototype following your own intentions, you need to fulfill some basic requirements to register your project with the EAS, which is in charge for the administrative tasks on the homebuilt aircraft construction on behalf of the  Swiss Federal Office for Civil Aviation (FOCA):

• Membership with the EAS and the Aero Club of Switzerland
• Fill a admission from
• Register before you start building
• Proof of payment for the project registration fee
• Provide additional information, keep in mind your own airplane is a multi year project, so there is no need to provide details of engine, propeller or instruments at this stage.
• Holding a valid pilots license is no longer required!

Werter Flugzeugbau-Interessent,

Sie möchten Ihr eigenes Flugzeug bauen? Perfekt, wenn sie dies in der Schweiz machen wollen, haben sie die richtigen Seiten gefunden. Was immer sie planen - Bausatzflugzeug, eine Einzelanfertigung ab Plan oder gar einen komplette Eigenkonstruktion - einige Punkte müssen erfüllt werden, damit Sie Ihr Projekt beim EAS - welcher im Auftrag des Schweizer Bundesamt für Zivilluftfahrt (BAZL) im nicht kommerziellen Rahmen die Administration über den Bau von Selbstbauflugzeugen durchführt:

•  Mitgliedschaft im EAS und somit im Aeroclub der Schweiz
• Projektanmeldung
• Registrierung bevor Sie mit dem Bau des Flugzeuges beginnen
• Nachweis der Bezahlung der Projektanmeldekosten
• Bereit sein, später zusätzliche Informationen über Ihr Projekt zu liefern - wir möchten Sie daran erinnern dass ein eigenes Flugzeug in aller Regel ein mehrjähriges Projekt ist und vielleicht noch nicht sämtliche Details von Anfang an bekannt sind
• Es ist nicht mehr länger notwendig, eine gültige Pilotenlizenz für das Flugzeug im Bau zu besitzen!

Cher futur constructeur d'avion,

Vous aimeriez construire votre propre avion? Parfait, si vous voulez faire ceci en Suisse vous avez trouvé la bonne page. Que votre projet soit pour un avion de kit, une reproduction à partir de plans ou que vous ayez l'intention de construire votre propre prototype, vous devez remplir quelques démarches de base afin d'enregistrer votre projet en collaboration avec l'EAS, qui est responsable des tâches administratives pour la construction des avions amateur au nom du Office fédéral de l'aviation civile Suisse (OFAC):

• l'adhésion à l'EAS et l'Aéroclub de Suisse
• une admission
• enregistrer votre projet avant de commencer la réalisation
• la preuve du paiement des honoraires d'enregistrement du projet
• sachant qu’un tel projet implique une réalisation sur plusieurs années, vous serez sans doute appelé à fournir des informations complémentaires durant les travaux
• Il n’est plus nécessaire d’être titulaire d’une licence de pilote valide!
